According to data from Rospotrebnadzor, 1,375 cases of mumps were registered in 2023, more than half of which were diagnosed in children.
Mumps is a highly contagious disease and is included in the national vaccination calendar.
To ensure the epidemiological well-being of the population, timely diagnosis of infection and monitoring of the level of immunization is of crucial importance. Serological diagnosis of mumps is based on the examination of paired blood sera. A more than four-fold increase in IgG titer over 2-3 weeks indicates current or recent infection.
